1ST RACE: Purse $7,500, thoroughbreds, maiden claiming, fillies and mares, 3 year olds and up, 4 ½ furlongs.
     VALEDICTORIETTE (F Martinez) was fourth vs. stronger over the daytime one-mile oval two outs ago and was third at shorter route over the night 5/8-mile surface three outs back. SWEET MISS DERBY (Arana) dueled hard for the lead through a 21.96 first quarter when tiring vs. much tougher in lat and set the pace when third at higher level three outs back. LOVELY STORM (J Sanchez) added blinkers in last runnerup try as the favorite in a slow race vs. softer field for this level.
2ND RACE: Purse $12,000, allowance, 3 year olds and up, 870 yards.
     MY CAPULLO (Arana) is bred to like the distance and went strong past the wire in last fourth-place 300-yard outing. JUSTICE RULES (Orozco) rallied for second vs. prior $12,500 third-place finisher Cal Cal Li Gowchis in last and should benefit by an expected contested pace. TEDDY BREWSKY (Allen) was forced wide at the ¼-pole before angling back inside by the 1/8-pole in last third-place try at this level.
3RD RACE: Purse $8,000, thoroughbreds, claiming, 3 year olds and up, 4 ½ furlongs.
     BATTLE JET (Hernandez) looms the lone speed and 10-time winner was third at shorter route two outs ago vs. recent 870-yard winner Big Energy. COUNCILMAN (J Sanchez) lacked racing room during the final 50 yards of last better-than-looked try vs. stronger and won at this level two outs ago. CHANGING KARMA (Bednar) takes a big class drop, gets a top local distance rider and won locally several years ago.
4TH RACE: Purse $8,000, thoroughbreds, claiming, fillies and mares, 3 year olds and up, 4 ½ furlongs.
‘     SHE CAN TOO (Payeras) had speed sharpened while galloping out nicely in last fourth-place 870-yard outing and apprentice rider has been doing well. SHAULA (J Sanchez) was third vs. stronger in first local try when facing prior $4,000 third-place finisher Part Of My Heart and retains leading rider. SLIGHTLY (Iniguez) went evenly down the lane in last fourth-place try at this level and has been part of the trifecta in 50 percent of her 18 starts.

5TH RACE: Purse $8,500, maidens, 3 year olds, 100 yards.
     KISS N AIR (Roman) ran super fresh in head debut loss four outs back and was competitive vs. stronger last year. TRES ON FIRST (S Mendez) was bumped back when stumbling in at the start of last to ignore and met major futurity finalists in first three outs. NEW HOT LOOK (C Gomez) was quick early while getting bumped in last runnerup try at this distance.
6TH RACE: Purse $7,435, maiden claiming, 3 year olds, 300 yards.
     HAYBEAUTIFUL (Rangel) was fifth in last Arizona futurity outing and was third locally four outs back vs. eventual stakes third-place finisher La Sierran. KEEP ME WARM (Ayala) bobbled near the lead in last third-place try and is well drawn again. GRANDMA RUTH (Roman) broke fast in better-than-looked 12.8 drill when under restraint last 1/16 after rider lost irons.
7th RACE: Purse $6,000, Winter Championship trial, 4 year olds and up, 400 yards.
     ZOOMIN FOR SPUDS (Ayala) was strong third in last Champion Of Champions outing and is beginning to look like gelding who won six stakes in 2016. BH LISAS BOY (DeAlba) had six-race win streak snapped in last fifth-place Champion Of Champions outing and likes an outside post. WORTH DOING (C Mendez) has been idle for 13 months since winning 2016 Los Al Two Million and worked alone in quick 17.80 gate drill for 350 yards.
8TH RACE: Purse $6,000, Winter Championship trial, 4 year olds and up, 400 yards.
     RITE REGAL (C Mendez) won two derbies here in 2016, can fire fresh and recorded quick solo 17.8 gate work for return. HE LOOKS HOT (C Gomez) didn’t break alertly in last seventh-place Champion Of Champions’ effort and gets a positive post switch. DA ONE TWO SPECIAL (J Nicasio) was a late 2017 development who lost nose photo two outs ago vs. two-time Grade I winner BH Lisas Boy.
