MASON B (Boag) opened a clear early lead when third vs. stronger in last and should get comfortable pace scenario here. IRON JOE T (Maruqez) unleashed terrific 6.03 final 1/16 in last five-length victory and has plenty of past class. AIMING FLUID (Guce) has been third in last three outings vs. ‘open’ claimers and faces easier conditioned group tonight.

3RD RACE: Purse $7,825, maidens, 3 year olds and up, 870 yards.
MISS SASSY (Santos) has solid local work tab for debut and registered quick 34 3/5 gate drill for 3 furlongs 11 days ago. IN CONTROL (Iniguez) was bumped into another rival at thestart of last fourth-place try and can be prominent early with a clean start. AFFIRMTHETHUNDER (Samuel Mendez) lacked early speed after sluggish start in debut when lugging out leaving the ¼-pole and has encouraging prior work tab.

4TH RACE: Purse $9,500, thoroughbreds, claiming, 3 year olds and up, 4 ½ furlongs.
YANKEE MINISTER (Santos) lugged out on the far turn when dueling for the lead in last third-place 870-yard outing and scored rapid wire-to-wire win at this route two outs ago. TAKEIT TO THE LIMIT (Charlton) set solid pace when tiring to fifth in last Santa Anita outing while making first start as a gelding and posted front-running maiden win on this oval three races back. SHORT ODDS (Boag) has settled nicely behind the leaders in last two victories vs. easier and should get quick fractions to help late surge again.

JESS CALL ME A HERO (Peinado) barely missed second when fourth from the rail post after 20-month layoff in last improved try and now draws the far outside. GORAB (DeAlba) has been freshened two months since last sixth-place try vs. tougher and was second three times here last year. LINDAS SPORT (E Garcia) is well spotted for first start in six months and was quick early two outs ago when third vs. recent $8,000 winner Tsing Tao.

6TH RACE: Purse $7,035, maidens, fillies, 2 year olds, 300 yards.
ONE SWEET RUNAWAY (S Ramirez) could have gone faster than her last promising 12.5 gate drill when displaying long stride after breaking quickly while well in hand throughout. ONE SWEET SHAZEE (Peinado) was improved when outworked by ¾ while second best of a three-team set in last 12.6 drill. GETCHA SWEET JESS (Santiago Mendez) was about one length behind top pick in last 12.6 drill and draws nice post.

7TH RACE: Purse $7,035, maidens, 2 year olds, 300 yards.
WE LIKE CORONA (C Mendez) broke fast and covered ground with a big stride in strong 12.2 drill for debut. BORN A PRINCE (DeAlba) recovered quickly after scrambling in the hind quarters when easily outworking rival in nice 12.4 drill for debut. GENETICALLY GIFTED (S Ramirez) is debuting half brother to 2013 Ed Burke Million winner Five Bar Cartel and was well in hand after breaking fast in last 12.5 work.

8TH RACE: Purse $11,025, allowance, 3 year olds, 350 yards.
CLOSING TIME (Boag) posted strong Trackmaster speed figures with daylight wins vs. easier in last pair despite fractious leaving the paddock and draws favorable post. SCUBA DOO (C Mendez) was bumped from both sides after breaking slow in last fifth-place 100-yard outing and was sharp prior second in a derby trial. WALK THE CATWALK (Huerta) rallied for nose win after getting bumped back at the start of last game victory but hasn’t been reliable for a clean start.
