The Bank of America Racing Challenge Championships will return to Los Alamitos Race Course in 2013, which is the tenth time the Challenge Championships have been held at the Orange County oval.
The AQHA Racing Conference will be held in conjunction with the event, November 6-9. The Challenge Championships are November 9.
“We are very excited that this great racetrack will again play host to this great event,” said AQHA Executive Director of Racing Trey Buck. “Los Alamitos has been the stage for historic performances by many American Quarter Horses, and we are looking forward to that happening again next year.”
The Challenge Championship card will be highlighted by the $350,000-est. Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1). Also included for the championship races are the $200,000-est. Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G1), $150,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G2), $100,000 Merial Distaff Challenge Championship (G1) and $100,000 Red Cell Distance Challenge Championship (G1).
Only Lone Star Park, a four-time host, has had the event more than once. Other racetracks that have played host to the Challenge Championships once are Evangeline Downs, Fair Grounds, Prairie Meadows, Retama Park, Sam Houston Race Park, Sunland Park and Turf Paradise.
