Talented young riders Eulices Gomez, Oscar Peinado, and Roberto Hernandez will be sidelined from riding after being involved in separate riding accidents. Gomez suffered multiple injuries after his horse clipped heels in the third race on June 13. Gomez cracked his pelvis, broke his clavicle and four ribs, and also cracked a bone in his spine. However, Eulices is in good spirits and is looking forward to being release from UC Irvine Medical Center. “I will be out in no time.”
Peinado and Hernandez suffered their injuries in training accidents. Peinado broke his collarbone on June 14, while Hernandez broke a bone in his ankle on Tuesday morning. Los Alamitos wishes a speedy recovering to all three of these young pilots.
