news         It was an all Mendez Brothers Trifecta in Saturday' sixth race at Los Alamitos. 19-year-old Samuel Mendez, the youngest of the three, won the dash aboard Sergio Gonzalez's Madres Day, with 26-year-old Santiago Mendez piloting runner-up R Little Pete. Cruz Mendez, the 29-year-old older brother and meet's leading QH rider, was third aboard Breakn Win. A 1-2-3 Mendez Tri could become a regular feature at Los Alamitos this year.

      A Mendez Triple could also because a common occurrence in Orange County. On Sunday night, all three of the brothers visited the winner's circle after Quarter Horse races. Santiago Mendez won the sixth race aboard Stanley Watkins' Snowlucky at 330 yards, and Cruz Mendez piloted Janet McKinnerney's Find Your Beach to victory in the eighth at 300 yards. Young Samuel Mendez followed it up with his second ever Quarter Horse victory in six career mounts when he guided Jose Flores' TR Barnstormer to the winner's circle in the ninth race at 300 yards. All three of these races were part of the Late Pick Four on Sunday at Los Alamitos.
