      Effective with Friday’s nine-race program at Los Alamitos, overnight Quarter Horse races for 2-year-old winners have been raised $1,000 per race. The first group of runners that enjoyed the new purse hike came in Friday’s sixth race when five runners competed for a $10,735 allowance purse at 330 yards.

The race went to Juan Humberto Moya's quick colt Amber Bock, who posted his second victory in a row over a field that included Silver Racing Farm LLC’s He Walks Thru Fireand Freakier LLC’s Symbol Of Freedom. Moya also campaigned recent allowance placed runner Scuba Doo and the promising Urgency.
