Career Profile: Adan Farias dominated the trainer standings in one key category in 2004 - win percentage. The trainer won races with nearly 29% of his starters. The next leading trainer in that category was Rodolfo Viramontes with 23.7%. That's one statistic that I am really proud of, said Adan, referring to his winning percentage. This sport is about winning races, so I work very hard to make that happen. On June 30th, 2002, Adan Farias' day went from Good to Great, as the conditioner enjoyed a memorable training triple thanks to Johnny Be Good, Ddf De Great Saiga and Solar Dash. Adan saddled Johnny Be Good to victory in a $38,000 race on the turf at Hollywood Park before the Quarter Horse Ddf De Great Saiga picked up the first of two stakes wins for the trainer a few hours later at Los Alamitos. Solar Dash completed the triple by dead-heating for the win in the Avison Handicap. All three horses that began the year competing in claiming races at Los Alamitos.

Johnny Be Good's win was especially memorable for the trainer, as the Thoroughbred defeated a field of $40,000 to $50,000  claimers on the Hollywood Park carpet. Farias had claimed Johnny Be Good for only $5,000 at Los Alamitos. Johnny entered the race in great form and had recently beaten Quarter Horses going 870 yards not too long ago, Adan said. Then, I read somewhere that this was the first time that he was going to face real horses and I didn't think that was fair. They (had) to take that comment back. Adan's success as a trainer has put a hold on his dream of working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Working for the FBI had been my goal since I was a kid, he said. Once I got my trainer's license, winning big races at Los Alamitos became what I wanted to do.
