ADRIANA ACEVES

Just a few hours after moving her horses to Barn #3A at Los Alamitos, trainer Adriana Aceves had a big smile on her face. "I like it here," she said referring to her new shedrow. "It's quiet and close to the track. I think my horses will enjoy it."

Aceves, who earned her trainer's license a couple of months ago, has enjoyed her start as a professional trainer. "We have one win but a lot of my horses have been right there, including He Can Run A Bunch who is runs on Saturday."    For the year the trainer, who is married to jockey Rodrigo Aceves, has hit the board with six of her first 15 starters.

"Owner Edwin Sirin has given me a great opportunity and he's sending me more horses all the time."

Interestingly, Adriana had her jockey's license at Dixie Downs. "I met Rodrigo when he was grooming horse for my dad Francisco Vallejo. Rodrigo went to Dixie Downs to ride and that's where I got my license. I also wanted to be a jockey but then I had our kids. Now that I'm training I can pony my horses and everyone in our family chips in. We're having fun."
