FEATURE MR LIQUIDITY IS BRIGHTES STAR ON INDEPENDENCE DAY
HANDICAP

LOS ALAMITOS RACE COURSE, CYPRESS, CA... Feature Mr
Liquidity's return to the track in more than 15 months could
not have been any more impressive. Making his first start
since March 23, 2008, Feature Mr Liquidity improved to four
wins in a row while taking home the top prize in the $30,000
Independence Day Handicap on Saturday at Los Alamitos.

Trained by Jesus Nunez for Felix A. Gonzalez, Feature Mr
Liquidity covered the 300 yards in the Independence Day in a
sizzling :15.09. His winning time was only 1/100ths of a
second shy of the meet's best clocking at this distance
shared by Remington Park Championship winner Separate Bet and
stakes winner Hulapai. His winning time is especially
remarkable considering he had not raced since March of 2008.

Feature Mr Liquidity had some quality efforts in 2008 as
well. He was undefeated on the year, winning the Katella
Handicap in a 350-yard time of :17.33 last March. His wins in
January and February of last year also resulted in him
earning speed indexes of 98 and 104. Bred by Michael Pohl,
Feature Mr Liquidity won last year's Katella Handicap over
the 300-yard track record holder Lassen County. The lengthy
layoff certainly seems to have sharpened Feature Mr
Liquidity, as he defeated a solid field to win the
Independence Day. Ridden by Juan Andrade, the sorrel gelding
crossed the wire 3/4 lengths ahead of former 330-yard track
record holder Firstdown Just Gil. He has now won five of 18
career starts.

The field also featured multiple Grade 1 finalist My Lady
First and stakes winner Time For Royal Dip. The complete
order of finish follows: Feature Mr Liquidity, Firstdown Just
Gil, My Lady First, Royal Medallion, Catchinon, Time For a
Royal Dip and Pappyscoronalilbro.

Blazin Fire, a multiple stakes winner at Los Alamitos, has
not raced since the Charger Bar Handicap on January 3rd but
she's been busy in the breeding shed. Owner Lisa McMahon
reported that Blazin Fire had two flushed embryos by Corona
Cartel and another one by Wave Carver. "We are trying for one
more with Ocean Runaway," McMahon added. "Blazin Fire has had
a long rest and is sound." A 7-year-old daughter of This Snow
Is Royal, Blazin Fire could still race again in 2009
according to her owner.
