DASHIN BK IS KING OF THE SUPER BOWL

LOS ALAMITOS RACE COURSE, CYPRESS, CA.... Nothing was going
to stop owner Anna MacPherson from being at the racetrack on
this night, especially with her talented sprinter Dashin BK
competing in the $20,000 Super Bowl Handicap on Saturday at
Los Alamitos.

"I've been really sick this week," she said. "I couldn't
make it to the track when (3-year-old) Hawk On The Fly won on
Thursday night. I went to the doctor and I told him to give
me the strongest medicine because I wasn't going to miss this
race."

Sure enough, Rod and Anna MacPherson were on hand for the
550-yard stakes races and the eventual result was surely 'a
cure all' for the owner. Trained by Paul Jones, Dashin BK
shook off a troubled journey to outduel Bad Act by a head in
a time of :27.22. Ridden by Ramon Sanchez, Dashin BK earned
$11,000 for the win and improved his career record to six
wins from 21 starts.

Claimed for $20,000 back in November of 2007, Dashin BK has
been a tremendous performer for the couple. The 5-year-old
gelding by Dashin Bye has made nine starts for the
MacPhersons, winning three of those starts and finishing in
the money a total of seven times. "Paul picked him out," said
Rod MacPherson. "He knew we were looking for a horse to claim
and he selected this horse."

While Anna was enjoying her first stakes win ever, Rod has
been around racing for nearly 30 years and has enjoyed
several major wins. The owner won derbies, futurities and
nearly $900,000 with the great gray Separatist. He also
enjoyed a total of 16 stakes victories with the great
distance runner Sign Of Lanty, the third highest figure in
Los Alamitos history. He also campaigned the Grade 1 winning
filly Classic Sassy Chic. Rod MacPherson is certainly no
stranger to winning big races, but with this being Anna's
first stakes victory makes the Super Bowl one that the couple
will always cherish.

"I'm on cloud nine right now," she said. "I'm speechless.
It's a great feeling."

Royal Bridlewood finished third. Million Seeker and
Reddydashn completed the field. Better Dashing was
scratched.
