     Hip #357 is a February foal by First Down Dash out of the Thoroughbred mare Icy Morn. Appearing in the catalog under the name of First Icy Morn, this black colt is a full brother to Ed Burke Million Futurity finalist First Down Morn.

 

 

    Icy Morn has also produced the Thoroughbred stakes winner Icy Lane, a filly by Devon Lane and the winner of the La Senora Handicap. Icy Morn is also the dam of the Chicks Beduino filly Slighty Icy, who qualified to the Los Alamitos Winter Derby and La Primera Del Ano Derby while also running third in the Denim N Diamonds Handica. As a 2-year-old, Slightly Icy qualified to the Restriced Grade 3 Los Alamitos Million Juvenile Stakes. 

 

    A rising star as a Quarter Horse broodmare, Icy Morn was an outstanding racehorse. The daughter of Crowned Jewel won 20 races and placed another 13 times in 39 career starts while earning $380,668. She won 10 stakes races including the City of Arlington Stakes and the Yellow Rose of Texas Stakes twice.

 

     A World Champion racehorse and a living legend as a stallion, First Down Dash won the 1987 Champion of Champions. He is also the sire of Champion of Champions winners Dashing Folly, Cash For Kas, Ocean Runaway, A Ransom and The Down Side just to mention a few.
