Champion Flash N Roll and Grade 1 finalist Jess Macho Corona, a pair of futurity stars at Los Alamitos in 2018, are among the headliners that will race in the All American Derby final at Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico on Sunday afternoon. Los Alamitos will simulcast the 440-yard derby race with the winner earning a provisional berth to the Champion of Champions. The fastest qualifier is American Hussle, who broke his maiden when winning his All American trial. The All American Derby will be contested at approximately 3:30 p.m. The past performances will be available in Saturday's Night Lines program and then again in Sunday's Night Lines.
The All American Futurity for 2-year-olds at 440 yards will be held on Labor Day Monday, September 2. Determined One (photo), fourth in the Ed Burke Million Futurity on June 24, is one of the top contenders in the futurity. The field will also include Passionate Paris, a Walk Thru Fire-sired filly trained by Bret Vickery.
Mark and Annette McCloy’s Lil Miss Sashay was impressive in her trial when winning by one-and-one-half lengths with Ricky Ramirez aboard. J.J. Gonzales trains the filly.
