          Trainer Elena Andrade had six 2-year-olds post works on Tuesday, March 3 with a gelding by Seperate Interest named Strange Fellow posting the second fastest 220-yard time of the morning of :12.40. The California-bred is out of the 2016 AQHAchampion aged mare Quirky,  the winner of three Grade 1 races and over $424,098. Quirkys sister is A Bit Quirky, a two-time graded stakes finalist.

            Strange Fellows outworked Royal Racy Perry, a colt by Volcom out of Perrys Darling, who earned $15,745 in her racing career. Royal Racy Perry’s granddam is Marcy Darling, the winner of the 1992 Bandera Downs Derby and runner-up in the Heart of Hills Derby also at Bandera Downs. Royal Racy Perry covered the distance in :12.8.

            The morning’s fastest time went to the Favorite Cartel filly La Reina Del Sur 1 (photo), a California-bred out of Go First NFamous. La Reina Del Sur 1 worked in :12.20 as part of a solo drill. Her family includes the stakes placed runner KRTsunami. Here are other notables from Tuesdays works: 

            Racie (Filly, Favorite Cartel out of Miss Racy Racie - trained by Gerardo Amezcua) Outworked Suite Encounter :12.7-:12.8. Granddam is Miss Racy Vike, winner of 10 races and $263,661. She’s the dam of Kiddy Up.

            Up And Leave (Colt, Kiddy Up out of Like Leave - trained by Elena Andrade) Worked evenly in :12.7 with Sports Cartel. Full brother to Up And Come, winner of trials to Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity and Evangeline Downs Futurity.

            Suite Encounter (Colt, Dominyum out of Suite Fantasies - trained by Gerardo Amezcua) Family traces back to Summertime Quickie ($108,243), the dam of champion millionaire Foose ($1,616,938) and stakes winner Flay ($116,842). Worked in :12.8.

            Apollitical Tools (Filly, Apollitical Jess out of No Tools Required - trained by Elena Andrade) Worked in :13.2. Dam has produced Firing Tools ($182,829),  One Hot Mecanic ($158,557), Tools Of Fire ($155,905), Required Fire ($71,235), and Corona Required ($64,243).

            On Thursday morning, seven juveniles posted works headed by Fabulous N Rare, who covered the 220 yards in :12.50. Fabulous N Rare is an Oklahoma-bred filly by One Famous Eagle out of the strong producer Rare Encore. She’s the dam of Tsunami Splash, a seven time winner, a three-time Grade 1 finalist at Los Alamitos and an earner of $101,529. Rare Encore, who won the Aurora Derby, Cherry Creek Futurity and Rocky Mountain Derby, is also the dam of five-time winner Jimbosecret, the runner-up in the 2020 The Blink Of An Eye Handicap. Felix Gonzalez trains Fabulous N Rare. Other horses to work on Thursday included:  

            Diva This (Filly, Favorite Cartel out of Hannas Halo – trained by Hector Magallanes) Was best when working from the outside against two other rivals. She posted a 220-yard time of :12.50 in the drill. Her dam earned $14,222 while finished second or better in three out of five starts.

Unstoppable One (Colt, Hes Relentless out of Time To Splash Bac – trained by Hector Magallanes) Worked the 220 yards in :12.6 while part of a three-horse set. The colt is out of Time To Splash Bac, who hit the board in nine of 14 starts while earning $40,574. A two-time allowance winner, she finished third in the All Canadian Futurity in 2009 and fifth in the Princess Stakes Derby both at Ajax Downs. She’s the dam of Speed Of Life, who ran third in the 2014 Ajax Juvenile Challenge.

             Russian Agent (Colt, Seperate Interest out of KGB Agent Anna -  trained by Elena Andrade) Went in :13.1 while working from the inside against Diva This and Unstoppable One. His dam is Kgb Agent Anna, whose two career wins both came at Will Rogers Downs in trials to the Black Gold 350 Futurity and Black Gold 330 Futurity.
