After winning the first race for 2-year-olds of the season at Los Alamitos Race Course, trainer Mike Robbins added two more victories with his talented juveniles here on Friday night.

Robbins saddled the Apollitical Jess filly Halley to hard-fought nose win for owners Beth and Michael Harper in the sixt hrace of the night. He then watched as Reliance Ranches’ Eagle Empire (photo) cruised from post number seven to score a 1 ¼ length victory in the evening’s seventh race. Robbins has now swept all three races for 2-year-olds contested here. He also saddled SC Divas Cartel Man to win the season’s first race for freshman last Sunday night. Jockey Oscar Peinado has ridden all three of Robbins’ winning pupils.

Bred by Sam Green, Halley was purchased by the Harpers for $200,000 at the Ruidoso Yearling Sale last year. The Oklahoma-bred filly out of Ms Southern Dynasty is a half-sister to 2017 Grade 1 Ruidoso Futurity winner Uptown Dynasty ($759,023) and 2019 Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity winner Uptowne Babe ($530,071).
