RACE 6 – 300 YARDS FOR FILLIES
#1 Betsy Vista JQM – April 4 :12.70 at 220 yards - Inside horse
Filly by Corona Cartel will work alongside Make Me Over and will win this drill easily while breaking from the inside post. Make Me Over is also in this race and will start from post number three. Betsy Vista JQM will break straight and gets brushed lightly by Make Me Over but accelerates from there. She is total control of this matchup and wins while completely under wraps. She finished with the seventh fastest of 48 works
#2 Owdacious – March 28 :12.70 - Inside horse
The Oregon-bred filly Owdacious faced the One Sweet Jess filly Only Sweet Sister in this drill. Owdacious broke slow and got bumped and pushed to the rail. She will move away from the rail and really finishes strongly. Very nice late runner from this daughter of Five Bar Cartel to win the drill. Owdacious has the 15th fastest of 35 drills.
#3 Make Me Over – April 4 :13.0 – Outside horse
Make Me Over will work from the outside post and is seen here with the previously mentioned Betsy Vista JQM. She will break inside and lightly brushes her rival. She evens out quickly but is outworked by her rival from this point on. She is asked once and continues racing fairly straight to the wire.
#4 Bubala – April 4 :12.40 - Outside horse
Bubala will go :12.4 in this drill while workmate, the Hes Relentless filly Leah Carroll, covered the distance in :12.3. Bubala will leave the gate sharply before drifting inside when asked right-handed. She will float back to the outside and is asked once more. Bubala finds a nice stride from there and finishes about ¾ lengths behind Leah Caroll. Nice improvement for Bubala from her first work when bumped early in a :13.2 drill. Bubala will record the 7th fastest of 48 drills.
#5 Jess Cartel Eyes – March 21 :12.30 - Inside horse
Filly by Corona Cartel out of Jess Racy Eyes is facing Jess A Little Riddle, who is racing on Friday night. Jess Cartel Eyes breaks okay and brushes foe lightly before pulling away impressively to win by about five lengths. Solid gallop out from there. Jess Cartel Eyes’ work was the 5th fastest of 67 drills.
#6 R Special Kiss - March 31 :12.80 - Outside
Filly by Kiss My Hocks will take on the Favorite Cartel juvenile My Favorite Ocean in this drill. R Special Kiss a bit antsy in the gate, hops out of there and goes to the inside cutting off some of My Favorite Ocean’s path. The rider will correct R Special Kiss and the runner shifts out on the way to finishing a length ahead of My Favorite Ocean.
#7 Roses For A Princess – April 4 :12.50 - Outside
Filly is by Jess Got Easier is taking on the colt Empire Builder. Roses For Princess will win this drill by a wide margin. She is a little antsy in the gate and breaks to the inside. Will be hand-ridden from there and does it all on her own. She floats lightly to the inside, but it’s a nice and easy work from Roses For A Princess. This is the 18th fastest of 48 drills.
RACE 8 – 300 YARDS FOR 2-YEAR-OLDS
#1 Your Painted Fate – April 4 :12.5 – Inside
This gelding by PYC Paint Your Wagon will post the same time as workmate Nonsense Coronado. Your Painted Fate’s dam is Fate Cant Weight, who produced local futurity finalist Peighnt Your Fate. Your Painted Fate stands perfectly in the gate. He will break in and will be asked from both sides while racing evenly with workmate throughout. Crosses the wire about a head behind work rival Nonsense Coronado. They finished with the 7th fastest of 48 works.
#2 Rice Road – April 4 :12.9 - Inside
Colt by Favorite Cartel out of the broodmare Miss Kittys Bar Bet, whose family has a long line of winners and stakes caliber horses. Rice Road will finish behind Turbulent Kisses in this work. Turbulent Kisses was a troubled sixth in his racing debut on April 18. Rice Road will stumble out of the gate and gets bump hard. He recovers nicely and will be encouraged several times and keeps up workmate. Nice finish and gallop out to the work after a rough beginning.
#3 Favorite Doc – March 21 :12.40 – Inside
Colt by Favorite Cartel out of Look Her Over, the dam of 2019 World Champion He Looks Hot. He is facing a highly regarded colt named Baby Boy Deluxe. Leaves the gate okay and will drift inside. He is encouraged a couple of times and horse responded nicely while keeping up with a talented workmate. Overall, it is a strong work. This is the 13th fastest of 67 drills.
#4 Opt Out – April 4 :12.4 – Inside
Colt by Favorite Cartel will work evenly with the Walk Thru Fire colt Apologetic. The two will work evenly in this drill. Opt Out will have clean, sharp, very professional work. Drifted in just a tad, but otherwise it is a terrific drill while well under wrap. Solid gallop out as well. Opt Out has the 7th fastest of 48 drills.
#5 First Dash Cartel – April 2 :12.50 - Inside
In this drill, First Dash Cartel will take on the filly Sweet Dalila, who is entered to race on Friday night. A gelding by First Prize Cartel, First Dash Cartel gets bumped at the start and that will take him all the way to the inside. Jockey will go right-hand twice and horse goes back to the inside while displaying nice, long strides in the second half of the drill. First Dash Cartel will finish with the third fastest of 19 works.
#6 Chance To Excel – April 4 :12.8 – Inside
Colt by Favorite Cartel will win this drill vs. a gelding named Young Dasher. Chance To Excel will break in and is under a tight hold right from the start. Jockey will sit chilly during this journey and has got the horse well under wraps the entire way.
#7 Relentless Six – March 28 :12.6 – Outside
A gelding by Hes Relentless, Relentless Six will outwork Master K Roll, who is a colt by Natovas Prince. Relentless Six left the gate swiftly and straight. Will work on his own while floating to the inside throughout. He was hand-ridden the entire way. This is the 10th fastest of 35 drills on March 28.
