DOCS FASTLANE SPEEDS TO MEET’S TOP 220 YARD TIME

Owned by Javier Chavez, Carlos Lopez and Jimmy Negrete’s Docs Fastlane accelerated once he hit the open road, pulling away late to win his career debut by a half-length in the fifth race on Sunday night at Los Alamitos.

Ridden by Oscar Peinado for trainer Jaime Gomez, the son of Docs Best Card won the 220-yard race in a time of :12.145, which is the fastest clocking of the meet at this distance. Bred by Jimmy and Dinah Negrete, Docs Fastlane is out of a Thoroughbred mare named Bev’s Fast Lane. Just like in his debut race, the New Mexico bred looked stronger the longer he went in his gate work back on February 27.

Docs Fastlane beat a field that included the Mr Jess Perry filly Jess Anothercommando, who was second in this race, and the Seperate Interest gelding Eyem Back, who is graduate of the Ruidoso Yearling Sale. Eyem Back finished third in this race for 2-year-olds.
