AYALA HAS WINNING RETURN, $423K PICK 6 TICKET SOLD AT LOS ALAMITOS
After being sidelined with foot and knee injuries since last November, jockey Jesus Rios Ayala wasted no time in returning to the winner’s circle. Los Alamitos’ leading Quarter Horse from 2017 to 2020, Rios Ayala won with three of his first four mounts this year, including with his first ride back aboard the Lindolfo Diaz-trained Gotta Corona Jess in the fourth race on Friday night.
Rios Ayala’s goal during his recovery period was to be primed and ready for the trials to the Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity to be held here on Sunday night. By the looks of it, mission accomplished for the track’s leading rider.
"It feels really good, Rios Ayala said. "I'm a little sore because these are my first races, but I'm thrilled to be back in the winner's circle and back in business."
