PROJECT LEADER WITH A VINTAGE EFFORT
Project Leader, the dominant distance horse of the 2024, returned to winning ways when upsetting a strong field of 1,000-yard runners in one of the feature events held this past Sunday at Los Alamitos.
Owned and trained by Jesus Uranga and ridden by Francisco Ramirez, Project Leader showed vintage early speed, took the lead and held off the previously unbeaten All The Greats to win at 22-1 odds, while scoring his first local victory since October 13. It also snapped a five-race losing streak. Project Leader won seven of eight starts last year and his career he’s picked up 22 total wins. He has over $250,000 in career earnings.
